Hello,

I am looking for suggestions on a small handheld light that would be used to shine through freshwater primarily to view objects below the surface. Would expect it to be waterproof or submersible. I found an older posting on this subject but wanted to get some feedback to see if anyone has tested LEP lights with the narrow beam.

Thanks

LEP lights like anything bright reflect off water (not all of it ofc), you need to consider how disturbed the water is as particles floating in the water will greatly effect what you can see.
Personally up close way too much light reflects back into your face and the pencil beam only makes visible a very small section.
Acebeam W30 is rated as a dive light to 100m.

I have the Solar Storm DX1, it`s good to 100m, plenty bright (variable output), and doesn`t cost all that much either. might be worth a look ;)
