Hi

I want to reduce the diameter beam of my laser at 5m the diameter it's ~4 5 mm but i want maximum 1mm anyone help me please

the only way you are going to be able to do that is with an external lens, a convex one i think. Hopefully one the more knowledgeable members can help you out with exact details.

4.5mm is really bad for divergence, what kind of laser are you using?

4.5mm at 5m would not be bad divergence at all for a purely diverging laser, but it would depend on the initial dot size for a converging one. First off, what laser are you talking about? Is this a WL greenie? Is so, which one. Pulsar, Glowtorch, Aries, ebayser, etc?

To get the dot size small, just use a magnifying glass or some other converging lens to bring the beam to a point at that distance. If you want to do it using optics at the laser side of the 5m, its a bit more difficult, but a combo of a diverging and converging lens, where the converging lens is less powerful than the diverging, may be used to try upcollimating the beam so that it focuses at that distance. If you're asking to get the beam 1mm all around though, that just isn't possible, sorry.

FYI, that's an unfiltered laser. I would expect its TRUE 532nm output to be in teh 15-40mW range. You can read more about what that means elsewhere on this and other forums.

I know no filter but i think the coated make a little filter,so i bought 2 IR filter for make sure protection eye i'm not crazy ;-)

Well, I don't buy into all the saftey stuff people talking about with IR spewers. It does add some to the danger, but its really minor IMO. My problem with it though is that '100mW' laser you bought is likely putting out 15-40mW, not the advertised 100mW.

it's not a true 100mw i'm disapoint for that can i modded it? i opened it and no pot did you know when i can modify this pointer?

oups i make a mistake it's late, i opened it and no pot did you know how i can modify this pointer?

Dont mod this type of laser. >5mW lasers should never be pot modded unless you are ready to lose it. Even <5mW ones shouldn't be pot modded if you need the laser. I keep seeing many posts about dead pot modded lasers, and yet very few people with operational, pot-modded lasers. If you want a more powerful laser, you'll just have to buy it, sorry.

Arrggghhhh you bought a spymodex laser pointer. Very unfortunate.

There are a number of good sellers on ebay so it is unfair to say that they are all bad. The problem with ebay though is that a majority of sellers are flogging lasers that at best, they have no knowledge about or at worst, are deliberately deceiving customers. Unless you know a buyer, buying on ebay is always risk and most people would advise you against it.

Spymodex is has a reputation for being one of the worst and for selling modified laser pointers with no IR filter. The only reason this kind of seller has a credible feedback is the ignorance of their customers.

Agreed, I've had some fun e-mail conversations on behalf of past Spymode customers with the Spymode people. I spend a lot of time with eBay and internet business, and, even taking Nigeria into account, Spymode have to be some of the most blatantly fraudulent, dishonest, greedy *******s in the world (I don't really have a particular word in mind to fill those asterisks - just use your imagination). I would stay away at all costs, and even buy their products from an overpriced competitor just to avoid them. Don't expect them to honor any of their policies if they aren't in the mood BTW.
