reflector differences between KL4 and KL4A?

I've had my old LuxV KL4 expertly converted to MC-E by AaronM some time ago. While the output was great, the artifacts got to me as the artifacts is visible even outdoors. I understand that since the individual dies are farther apart its just how it is, so I'm not complaining

Someone down in CPFM is selling the new 120 Lumen KL4A heads and I was wondering if anyone disassembled it or compared it with the old KL4 and found a difference. My question is: would the new KL4A be a better candidate for such mods or not?

Unlikely, since the reflector is optimized for a smaller light source.

well, in that case I'll just have to send in an E2e head and have Milky install a P7:twothumbs
