Replacement LED for small incandescent?

Hey everyone,
I've been lurking here for a few weeks but I finally have a question to ask. So, A friend gave me a Gerber rx-350 with a burned out bulb (he tried using an rcr123). Now, before I go and get a normal incandescent bulb, I was wondering if there was such a thing as a very small LED in a 5mm type housing that could put out decent lumens. Obviously nothing too high, there would be little if any heatsinking involved, plus there would be no room for a driver. So I guess my question is, is there anything LED bulb that stands up on legs (so I can stick it through the two little holes like on a mini-mag) and puts out at least 30 lumens? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, it seems unlikely that such a thing exists but it's worth a try.

Welcome to CPF, wyager.

I'll move your thread to the LED (emitters) section - someone may have a solution for you there.

Please note that a bi-pin incan bulb is smaller than 5mm.
You may have to drill out your reflector for a 5mm LED.

What is the normal battery the torch uses?
Does it have a reflector or magnifying lens?

If you have the CR123A version:
About 15 lumens.

About 10 lumens.

Cutdown versions work best with reflectors to produce hotspot.
Uncut versions tend to be more floody. Not too good in the lower lumen range.

Powered versions:

You will have to shave the bottom of your reflector for the electronics. The supplied spare reflectors are for minimag 2AA and/or 2AAA incan.

Gee, the Xenon bulb is $5 before shipping?!!!
