Very nice pics Packhorse. The lighting is really showcased in the pic of the Dorid.

I originally brought the XP-G R4s for use with aspherics but found they didnt perform as well as XR-E's.

So I had to use them in something.

I shoot in Raw and JPG at once. With the colour balance set to flash or underwater the results are pretty good. I can then tweak the pic a little more in Canon DPP.

That's one nice light. The pictures have incredible depth and and a character that you just don't see in u/w photos. Much better than a single or dual strobe config!

I think its a matter of the right tool for the job. There are times when I wish I has a decent dual strobe set up.
Then there are other shots that I take that I know just wouldnt come out nearly as well with out the ring of light.

In saying that I cant see myself rushing out for a set of strobes.

The pictures are good with excellent composition the problem with the rings is that they should be used only for macro in wide angle the result is a flat picture.

The more magnification the better the results what I recommend is that you try a Inon Macro lens.

This light is now up for sale due to flooding of my camera housing.

That's a pity to read, not that the ring is for sale but that you flooded the camera :mecry:

Any known reason this could have happend, nothing to do with the added weight of the alu ring light??

By the way, what was the added weight of the ring to the camera housing?
I know that the camera should be almost neutral or a bit floating underwater.

Not sure where the leak came from but nothing to do with the ring. Its mounted via the tripod thread on the housings base so does not stress the housing at all.
Never worked out weight in water but it did make the positive camera housing negative.

Yeah it was insured, seems the only way I ever get to upgrade my cameras is when they flood. I really liked the G11. It was great for macro stuff.
