Hey guys,

Just wondering what you would suggest doing to get the best output from this flashlight.

I am not willing/able to do technical stuff liek soldering etc.

Is there a good battery/cell to use with this light.

Cheers,

Stuart

Primary(1.7V) lithium batteries should give the best performance on it, but I'm not sure if they're worth using over NIMH batteries.. just dont use alkaline's, that's about it.

The easiest way to get a bright light is to order the RC-G2 Q5 from Shiningbeam.com

It already has a very bright LED installed.

All other upgrade paths involve emitter swaps, possible circuit board changes, and soldering.

If you're not soldering, there's nothing you can do other than order from shiningbeam.

even the shining beam g2 needs a board upgrade to make use of the q5 that it has. It is a simple mod and well worth the effort. Mine has a 7880 type board and is easily the brightest single aa light I own and it has much better throw than most other single aa lights. If I can work on it anyone can. That or there are some here that would be happy to work on it for you.

Ach, I might leave the Romisens as standard and upgrade my 6P instead. I know I can buy direct replacement units for the 6P that require no work from me.

Cheers,

Stu
