So I have been thinking about adding a rotary table to the micro mill. Looking around I see that HF has a 3" and a 4" for pretty cheap. Also LMS has a couple nice package deals on some 4" models. Anyone have any say on the HF RT's? Or would I just be better off getting, what I think would be better quality, a RT package deal from LMS? If someone has some first hand experience it would be much appreciated.

I have the HF 3 incher. A couple of notes:

1) It has a center hole that does not have any type of taper, so fitting an arbor to a drill chuck or something of that type will not work.

2) the handle is on a shaft that is the end of the screw. The handle acts as a retainer to keep the screw from moving in/out. This was a problem when I tried to mill curves on a large piece. Had to take very small cuts or the handle would slip on the shaft, making the movement very sloppy. I milled a flat on the shaft to partly fix the problem.

It pays to get a tailstock at the same time so you can support the outboard part when doing anything with it mounted vertically.
