After getting my L4 and loving it, I think I've become somewhat addicted to researching flashlights to get... and I think I want something with more throw. Also, I wanted something with different output levels but still maintaining the tactical switch from my L4. (I don't like the reverse switch on the Fenix)

I was looking at the Surefire U2, but for the price it didn't seem too great, but the 6 choices of output was nice.

Then I stumbled upon the Lumapower M1 Hunter Tactical version and I was blown away with the brightness and throw and especially runtime on an 18650 battery! And it's a lot cheaper than the U2!

So I've been thinking about ordering one and then I saw the threads about the new Surefire's coming with Cree LED's. Should I wait or go for the M1? Or are there other alternatives I haven't found? (I thought about an A2 but I decided I don't want an incan thrower and my budget is about $200 at the max atm)

Thanks!

The WE looks good as well. Is the beam as tight as the M1?

I'm not sure if I can get a hold of the WE in the UK but I've found some sites that sell the M1 here...

Also I'm not really sure how standardized advertiser's lumens are... are the M1 and WE Defender about the same for brightness at the hotspot?

How about a Surefire L2? Very similar to the L4, but with dual output. My understanding is the new version using the Cree LED rather than the Luxeon will be coming out shortly (I believe next month). Good luck, and happy shopping!

There's also the Dereelight CL1H. There's a thread in the Mfr's forum I think. It has a momentary clicky and 2-stage (high/low) is switched by twisting the tube just behind the head which is nice since you can access the light level you want without having to cycle through other cycles.

Hm... I think it's down to the Lumapower M1 or the Wolf-Eyes D2, or waiting for the CREE Surefires.

Wolf-Eyes' site is insanely confusing... listing the run times of their 170lumen drop in as 4 hours in one section and then 30 minutes in another...

For build quality which do you guys think is better? The Lumapowers or the Wolf-Eyes? I'm thinking the Wolf-Eyes would have a more powerful beam but I'm not totally sure either.
