I'm looking for a very small keychain light with clicky, something smaller then the usual AAA lights. :candle:
Actually something like the Draco would be perfect, if it just had a clicky instead of that bezel rotating twist switch! (I'm somewhat afraid of loosing it's head...)
Any help would be greately appreciated!!!

P.S.: Maybe one with head rotation switch would be ok, too, if the head would be tightened in the off position. But I've never heared of such a light except the LF2, which is still too large for me... :awman:

At that size, you're going to be constrained by the size of available batteries; how exotic do you want to get? AAAA cells exist, but they're not exactly easy to find and are expensive for the amount of energy they contain.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not sure how useful a tail-click switch would be on something that small - have you considered something like a Photon Freedom?

I wouldn't be too worried about losing the head on the Draco. In the off position, it still has plenty of threads left that it's attched to. Mine has NEVER backed off...and Ive had it dangling on the outside of my pants at times throughout the day...otherwise it stays in my pocket.

With the blinding output(~160 lumens out the front), excellent build quality, and extreme size, this light is an excellent buy for us flashoholics. I say jump on the Draco...you won't be dissapointed!

Oh, I did I mention, you WON"T lose the head from it backing off :grin2:

AAAA batteries are hard to find? I don't think so, every time I buy a 9 volt battery I get 6 of them!

I second the Photon Freedom. Dimmable for long battery life too. I keep one on my keychain without fear of scratching its plastic body. It's my backup to whatever CR2 or CR123 light I'm EDC-ing that day. It can also be set to constant-on or momentary operation as you see fit that minute.

Most rotating head switch lights have plenty of thread and there's really no chance that the head will fall off. My Fenix LOD-CE for example has to be rotated a full 3 1/2 turns before the head actually comes off, from the off position for the light.

There is a light that turns off when you tighten it... It's called the Maglite Solitaire...

There are actually mods that can make it worth your time, too. In any case, I haven't had a problem with the head of my Fenix E0 falling off... Also, check out the Photon Freedom Micro or cheaper X-Light Micro.

cheap tiny handy: photon freedom

bigger brighter better: lod-ce on li-ion

best: draco

and if you get version 1.2 head(has more threads, and virtually all shipping now are v1.2 if i read correctly)you will have no worries about ever losing the draco head.

go for the draco, you won't regret it.

btw, I showed a wealthy client/friend the draco today and he is ready to buy one. he even pulled out a pen to write down a web site, i had to tell him how it works. he is a total non-flashaholic, but the draco pulled him in.

aunoc aaaa
*only* $50
stainless, waterproof

and really, the AAAAs are as easy to find as any good 9V
My last set of six were from a 9V energizer e2

Thanks a lot for all the answers!!! Just great!!! :)
I did look around a little according to your suggestions.
Lights like the photon freedom seem to be made of just a little too much plastic imho.
The Aunoc looks promising but I find it still a little too long... It seems even AAAA battery lights seem to be a little too long for me (yeah, I know, I'm exaggerating), so it comes down to button cell lights.
The Firefli on the other hand just looks a little odd with it's bare LED, but I have to say it's really small... :)
That Nano Tac actually doesn't look bad at all, I'll have a look at that!

A few words to the Draco:
In fact I have allready ordered such a light, it should be on it's way... :)
I'd like to wear the light I'm currently searching for on my trousers (hanging from the belt, easy to grip all the time).
The Draco however will most likely end somewhere in a pocket, so it really can't get lost... (call me overanxious...) :naughty:

P.S.: So far I used that light, which was actually quite nice (and only about 5cm long):

But it seems just not bright enough anymore and it's not being produced anymore.

The Photon Freedom (or X-light) are great keychain lights - sure they are plastic but take easy-to-find batteries and weigh next-to-nothing, tiny, loads of functions (dimmable, strobe, SOS etc.), last for ages and cost about US$6-10. I keep one on all my keyrings even if I have another (larger) light as well.

Other than that the Orb Raw (RCR2 powered) is pretty tiny and very bright (the NS version even smaller) and the Orb Wee is due soon and smaller still.

Just ordered a Fenix L0D-CE (should be here tomorrow) - takes standard AAA's (and Lithium Ion also apparently!) - multi-function and fairly inexpensive.

Too much information :)

Well, I allready have an L0D-CE, and that really is bright and a nice light overall, but too large to have it hanging at the trousers...
That orb raw actually looks quite nice!
