I'm interested in hearing reports from folks who own the new Peak Caribbean with a Seoul P4 U bin LED and how it compares with the Luxeon version.

I've not seen either version in person. Is the new version more floody? I have an HDS EDC 42XRGT.

How do the flood, throw, and tint of both the old and new version Peak Caribbeans compare with the HDS?

The Peak Caribbean web page lists an overall length of 3.5 inches. Is that for the keychain body version?

What are the Caribbean's body and head diameters?
Thanks.

I have a Carribean. Key chain body version.

Luxeon III version. The length of the body is determined by what position the head is in when it is measured -- it'll measure more when it's all the way out vs all the way in.

With mine just so it doesn't turn on when you press the head and body together:

Length: 3 and 22/32 inch, or 9.4cm.
Head diameter, measure from the face (lens part): 27/32 (I hate english measurements) or 2.1cm.
Body diameter, measured from female end of the body where the head screws in: 25/32ths, or just about 1.9cm.

I haven't compared or even held a HDS. But I can give beamshots, but QuickBeam's wonderful site (flashlightreviews.com) should help with that.

Thanks for the info icecube. I just bought a couple of Caribbeans with keychain and pocket style bodies.

Parnass,

I think that you will be happy with the Carribean. It is a very nice an bright light. If throws quite a nice beam that is a good combination of flood and throw.

Nice and small, smaller than a PD; smaller because it is thinner.
