I just caught a re-run of the Soup Nazi episode. Thats my favorite episode I believe. It captures that mentality completely.
When I was in high school gym class the coach gave the keys to the locker room to the biggest and dumbest guy in class and of course he abused this power. He made us all wait just outside the door to the locker room while we were sweaty (I grew up in the South) until everyone showed up.
He did this rather than just open up the locker room/shower...just because he could.
I've seen this attitude in the workplace where a supervisor seems to have to justify their position by how mettlesome they can be to others.
You see this in other places as well.
If you havent seen this episode try to do so. Im sure youll recognize other places where this mentality exists. Of course, it is hilarious the way its portrayed on Seinfeld.
