Seoul Semiconductor develops high efficient Acriche of 80lm/W

I'm pretty sure the 80 lm/W rating is when driven at nominal voltage (either 120 or 240 VAC). It's not at a super low current. I still have no idea how this LED works directly off line current, nor if it flickers at line frequency. Also, I wonder how marketing choose the name "Acriche". To me anyway this sounds like some new species of insect. Looking fast at it is reminiscent of "Arachnid". I'd personally have just unglamourously called it an HVLED (high-voltage LED).
