Just ordered this flashlight and was curious as to what you guys think of this light?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!!

I am evaluating one right now.
seems to be a versatile series, but I don't like the momentary switch all that much.

Shouldn't you have asked this question BEFORE purchasing?

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

I don't have one, but I've heard good things. It's on my long term wish list. Please let us know what you think as well.

Prolly would have been the smart thing to do.

Any idea how long it takes to recieve orders from Lumens factory?

I was playing around with Craigs at a CPF meet last week and the twist/forward momentary switching mechanism was very intermittent, and at times hard to thumb press activate.

Not sure if its a design flaw or manufacturing defect, but based on a first impression the clicky switch option would be my preference.

They are nice P60 hosts though overall despite the switch funky-ness. I like the rubber grip rings, very well executed design. Provides grip without sticking out too much. The affordable lego options alone make this a standout system overall. I like the D36 bezel best.

Dont like the pewter color. Standard matte black type II or natural type III would be my preference.

Lighthound sells these at a very affordable price.

Yep, the clicky has a very springy feel so it's not the best one available. Too bad the tailcap is quite short so it's not easy or maybe even impossible to mod it with Spiderfire or Solarforce tailcap and KD forward clicky. I tried Netkidz forward clicky and if I remember correct it worked great. The original switch causes mode skipping in my homemade Q3 5C drop-in. Not all the time though but too often.

I also like the rubber rings. The stainless bezel rings are great because those fit SF P/C/Z lights perfectly.

I actually like the "spongy" feel of the forward clicky.
The twisty is a little dodgy, I don't use it much but then I don't run high amp setups yet.

Might be force to when I get my M adapter and P7 head today. ;)

Its versatile, works and runs any P60 setup you can imagine.
I sometimes carry it when I go out at night with the flat bezel, its great with combat grip type holds, takes 18650's and does not even rattle with 16340 or CR123's.

If I could only have 1 light it would be a 6P done up to 18650, clicky and Malkoff LED but the SP-6 does all that already and more.
A perfect working light.

indeed, IMO, if you're not using the uber incans, stick with the clicky, it's very good feeling, and easy to use.

I guess I'll only use the momentary switch as a twisty.

I took apart the switch, looks like a McClicky switch should fit in this...

Is the light still good to go? I'm looking into buying one and I need your opinions about it's worthiness, It's 50$ and it can use P60 drop-ins (this will be my first attempt on a P60 host). For me the price is very tempting for the options in this light.

Either of the Seraphs are well made, rugged and will provide long service. The twisty tail can be a bit tricky since it and the body tube threads are longer than average. The momentary "switch" will work if you get the tail "just right". I believe you can remove the momentary switch and replace it w/ a McClicky so you can have two clicky tails. The Mini-Turbo head and a D36 drop-in are very useful if you want better throw, even though the original XRE R2 drop-in has very good throw for a D26 design.

I have one I used briefly with the IMR-9 lamp and a nailbender high-CRI drop-in. Very solid host, and very well thought out placement of the grip rings, as mentioned above. I very much appreciate the inclusion of smooth and crenelated steel bezel rings, as well as clicky and momentary tailcaps- I did use the tactical tailcap due to the high draw of the IMR-9 lamp, and had no problems with it. I'm not a huge fan of the color and styling, but that's merely personal preference, and the performance of the seraph 9 far outweighs the cosmetic issues. I am selling mine off only because I've decided to go with the e-series over p60 based lights-- otherwise, the seraph was the best "out fo the box" of all the p60 hosts I had.
