I'm not really trying to start an all out bash fest, but doggonit, a $7000 flashlight is a bit ludicrous unless it's made out of solid gold.
I guess what struck me is that I just paid $21,000 for a
brand new, fuel injected, aircraft engine (Mattituck Lycoming 180hp).
I immediately thought of that engine when I read about this $7000 flashlight.
I just don't see that the machine work or materials necessary to make a flashlight compares to what it takes to produce an engine that's reliable enough to hang one's butt at altitude.
Perhaps what struck me was the thought... "Let's see; should I buy this engine, or
3 flashlights?"
But ok, I'll let it go.
I'm sure some other people think
I'm crazy to have spent over $400 on "just" a flashlight as well. (AE 25W Xenide).
And yea, there is very likely a Polarian in my future.
