has anyone tried this? Mabed doubling the o rings would suffice? I would think that a 6P + malkoff would make a handy daytime spotter to keep in the BC.

I have4 a Surefire 6P but I've never considered it for diving. For one thing it has a momentary switch in the tail. I've never closely examined the o-ring behind the lens either as I've never had the lens off.

Without modifying I wouldn't dive it and given the price there are cheaper lights to modify for this purpose.

I saw a 6PN that was advertised as a submersible 6p, but I didnt see any specs on it beyond that. I wouldnt think the momentary switch would be an issue, just twist it on.

The 6PN was rated to 30m but not sure they still make them.

I dont think so, but I saw someone LA police gear or something that had it on their website recently

I dove to about 60 ft with a 6p one time by accident. Relieved that the light made it. Then i started packing yellow dive lights so i wouldnt do that again

I'd like to see a knockoff light like this. I just received a Uniquefire L2 XP-G with is a 6P clone.

All it would take to make something like this truly dive worthy would be a ledge in the head to support an o-ring that would compress with depth and a solid tail cap.

I've converted similar lights and tested them to 100fsw but I like this light and don't want to screw it up.

Converted to a solid tail cap is easy...just take the switch out and epoxy over the hole. Without a proper support for a front lens o-ring the only solution I've found is just to use silicone sealer behind the glass lens. It works but it's a bit messy looking. I'd prefer to have a proper compressing o-ring there.

Are there any 6p clones out there with solid tail caps and compressing o-rings in the lens area? If anyone finds any, whether it's rated for diving or not, I'd like to know about it.
