Hi,
I replace the PM6 lamp assembly & reflector with a SF P60 Lamp assembly on the PM6 body. It works with a SF click ON/OFF Tailcap /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. The output is the same as 6P. The PM6 also works with a SF P90 Lamp assembly & A19 adapter. Does anyone has try this setup before? The PM6 is my favorite now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Hmm, are you refering to the Pelican M6? Do you have to make any modifications for the lamp assemblies to fit the bezel? Where does the A19 attach? Got any pics to show? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Suppin,
Sorry, I don't have a digital camera. It works perfectly normal without any modifications. The orginal PM6 tailcap was replaced with the A19 and SF click ON/OFF Tailcap.

Ah I see, so all I have to do is to attach the A19 to the tail, replace it with a clickie tailcap (is it the Z49? the one with the rubber shroud? or Z58?) and I can run the P90 and P91 in this setup?

Has anyone else tried this out yet? It'll be pretty neat if it is not a one off case. Thanks taylor!

Yes, We can also use the P90 with A19 adapters powered by 2 nos. of Pilas. I have tried this setup. It also works.

I've just sent you a pm, taylor /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The clickie tailcap I have tried are the SureFire Z58 Click ON/OFF Tailcap and SureFure SW02 Rear Cap. Both of them are work for the PM6 body.

taylor:
Does it work with the original LOTC (Z41)?

Double_A:
I'm interested in this because I currently have a PM6, and it would be an affordable way to turn it into a 200lumen light if it works /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Here is a pic from McGizmo.

Here's another combo that works. The Pila 3.7V Lamp assembly with Pila cells. Now you can have rechargeable PM6! Best result can be had if you ream out 1mm off the inside of PM6 body so you can use the 168A (higher capacity) cell. Also you need the spring for Surefire lights for the Pila lamp. I use Panasonic 2000mAH in my Surefire M2 for best output, the same can be had in the PM6 body. Another mod is to use the Kroll clickie modification to the tailswitch.

Taylor,
In the picture I took in June last year, shown below, the PM6 on top is hosting a P61:

A modified E2C converted to PM62C allows hosting of the KT turbo head on the PM6 body as well.

Thanks RY and Don, the pics are great! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the insight CM! Rechargables would be great for running 9V lamps... waiting on Jon's new rechargable 123s to be launched, then maybe I'll try them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

McGizmo,
Thx for your pic.
Double_A,
The advantage of this combination is that you can save a lot of money. Just buy a PM6 and a SF clickie tailcap, you can use a lot of lamp assembly such as Pilas lamp, SF P-series lamp and even led lamp assembly if you have the PM6 LED version.

Wait wait wait...am I missing something here???

One reason I would get a PM6 is the fact that Pelican reflectors are well known for the throw whereas Surefires are known for the balance of flood and moderate throw. Why then are folks inserting a P60 or P61 into a PM6?

For those people who only have a PM6, the combination of accessories is a cheap way to get the advantage of various lamp assembly.

Ask not why would you want to do this, it is a mod, a cheap no brainer one, and a creative one. Mods just give you more options, and for those that have the PM6, they can pop a P60, P61, or Pila 3.7V lamp assemby into the host in a pinch. If you want a Lux III LED, put a McModule in there. If you need more light from a LED, put a McModule with a Lux V in there. The PM6 is an incredibly versatile host and /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif to taylor for pointing the Surefire option out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

OK, we now need a mini HID mod for the PM6.

I had not heard that the PM6 was compatible with the Surefire parts that is good to know, I can run the P90 w/123r in one or use 2 A19's and 2 Pila 168s sounds like a win / win situation for me. I think I even have a 3.7 lamp laying around here as a spare.

Topper,

I also like to play with the rechargable Li-ion batteries for my flashlights. If you want to use the Pilas on PM6. The SF X80 lamp assembly may be perfect for you. X80 is a little bigger then the orginal PM6 lamp assembly. However, after I put the X80 on the PM6 body without len cover, it works with 168s Pilas. I think it can works if you can modify the SF X80 lamp assembly and the spring contact.
