Is the simple diagram
Basically, you cut out a hole in a square piece of wood, off centre, and when you put your torch through the hole, so that the head is nearly against the hole, depending on the rotation of the wood, you get different angles, and the torch does not roll.
Been thinking of this for a while, just working out optimum position of the hole, to give 4 different angles.
Hole is big enough to allow some slack, so that the torch and wood act a bit like a tripod.
I'll post pics when I've made one.

Hole is a little large on this mock up, so the cardboard is leant over just too far. It does stop the torch rolling though.
And then there's the downward tilting option, using two separate holes in different pieces of wood, either end of torch, looking sort of like a teepee.
Blue tack is quite effective in stopping rolling too.
