Hi,

Well, as described in the title. I cannot find such a comparison anywhere:thinking:. I would really appreciate, if you could help... These beamshots could be probably with some different test, just for reference, I think. Yeah, could be... Thanking you in advance for your eventual help!

beyond the evidence that can 'always be useful, do not understand why compare two completely different torches!

OK, a bit of explanation. I'm totally aware, that these are completely different flashlight. By now, after 100s of hours spent on this forum I've narrowed my search to those two. I know what to expect - the Microfire Warrior III will pulverize (I like this word :grin2:) the M6 with no doubt about that. However,

1. I trust the Surefire more,

2. I like the SF's iconic build quality more + all those extras like reflector cover, for instance,

3. I like the incan's momentary "full power on" more (without waiting few seconds to reach the full blast).

4. I like plenty of all available modes

However:

1. Microfire Warrior III has far more power / throw. Also the size and the build quality seems to be one of the top levels.

2. I'm trying to justify buying the MF regardless it's possible faults like exchanging expensive bulb

In other words, I'm trying to find out how big is the difference in light output between those two lights to fully justify of buying one. Let's say, that the SF gives only a little bit less then MW, I would surely go for SF (I mean real life beamshots, throw, spill, etc). But if the MF WIII will pulverize  the SF in every way, I'll go for it. Well, it's hard to explain, I just would love to see those beamshots comparison.
If the lumens' reading data was the only factor to base on and if it wasn't so much difference I wouldn't post this thread. The thing is that it is big difference between those two lights, but I'm just wondering how does it look like in real life. I'm still ready to sacrifice some lumens against the build quality, durability and options available. That's why I'm posting this thread, to see beamshots and decide what can I sacrifice instead of what.

both are good torches, very well built, the price is comparable, the Surefire has on its part, the compactness and color rendition of light more 'real, the Microfire is seven times more' powerful, has a longer battery life, it is more 'bulky, light emitting bulb is too blue. beyond these factors I think that money for the Microfire is winning.

M6 1185 (mag 85) Has about a 500L advantage over the M6 on primaries.

K3500......the concrete drainage is about 225 yards.

Przemo,

You'll do better to compare the K2000R or WE Boxer24W to the M6, since they're a bit closer in size. It's really comes down to this and nothing more: If you need instant "tactical" light and a many bulb and battery options the M6 is the clear choice. If you just need a lot of light with the most throw possible, then the small HID's are the clear choice.

The M6 w/FM 3x18650 body and 1185 bulb gives about 1100L OTF with steady decrease in output for about 45 minutes. The Boxer24W gives about 1500L OTF with mild decrease for about 60min. with AW 18650's.

The K3500 is much larger but gives about 2600L OTF with mild decrease for about 50min. The M6 on primaries does about 600L OTF for a few minutes which rapidly decreases over 20min.

The great thing about this "comparison" is that the differences are so pronounced and easy to sort out. Just pick the one that will suit your application.

Thank you for your replies, guys! Andromeda - thanks for very interesting link, Patriot - thanks for beamshots and explanation. That runtime on SF M6 :shakehead...
I would probably go for the MF (that beamshots-Microfire vs car lights, simply ). One thing worries me though. Is that beam colour temperature is really so blue in real world, as on the pictures presented? Geeze, on some of them it looks like somebody mounted a blue filter to this light... :huh2:

the beam of the Microfire is blue, this is because the lamp emits a color temperature of 7000 K is perhaps the only flaw that reflected in this flashlight, honestly, the color tends to distort the real perception of what is being observed. I prefer in this sense, the neutral color of the Surefire M6!

No doubt that the M6 provides much better CRI. Yes, it really is quite blue, not to the point of duplicating a blue filter but 7000K is right up there. Imo, the M6 in purely stock form is a momentary tactical light only with the MN21 lamp installed. M6's in modified form perform much better. For example the Lumens Factory HO-M6R with 17670's or 18650's in an FM body is fantastic. It provides well over an hour for very white light. Still, we're talking about levels much lower than HID though. You might consider the 24W Oracle since it uses a warmer color temperature and isn't too much larger than the M6. I saw one in the Marketplace for around $100 that sounded close to new.

Thanks for the reply, Patriot. Your help made me resign from buying the Warrior III. The main issue is that bloody blue beam. I will also pass by the idea of buying the Surefire M6, as I've finally decided to go for HIDs. No middle choices here. I want ultimate power! :naughty:
That Oracle idea looks more then OK for me, however I would go for 35W option. A lot of reading about that light before I will made my final decision, though . I'm gonna post all my doubts in new thread as this one is no longer about Microfire vs SF anymore :sigh:
I'm still looking forward to listen to all your conclusions.
Rgds
