Smaller Host that takes "standard" bulbs?

Been wanting to get a reasonably pocket sized incandescant that takes a normal bulb. I've done a bit of research but I've come up empty handed so far. Sorry to ask a "do all the work for me" question, but I really can't find anything.
Mainly looking for a light which:
takes a normal bulb (like a KPR 113 or KPR102)
takes standard aa/aaa batteries
preferable small enough to fit in a pocket
would like it to be button on/off

So far the most promising one I've found is the small flashlight from a coleman lantern, it's 4aa and takes a 4D bulb.

This is going to be a tough one in 2024. Not only are these lights long out of production but they don't come up so much on the market either.

It seems by the late 80s or early 90s lights were using bipin bulbs. Lights such as Brinkmann, MagLite, Energizer, Streamlight, etc. When CR123 lights hit the scene there was rarely interest in PR base bulbs except for maybe Walther.

If AA I recommend running a 3D bulb and two lithium Energizers.

Are you wanting new manufacture? Only one I can think of is a Maglite ml25it. Takes 2 or 3 C cells. I run mine with eneloops in adapters

Not to concerned with new or used. Can you remove the bi-pin adapter from it?

There is no bi-pin adapter. Just a bi-pin holder. So no, there's no pr socket. Bi-pins are standard bulbs though and match your requirements

Ended up getting a cheaper Lumilte, it feels much nicer than it looks somehow. Not sure what's going on with the reflector but the focus is very good, and the spot is very small. Here is a picture of the beam next to an aaa minimag. Currently I have a KPR102 in it, ordered some HPR52 bulbs to see how they work. Hoping to find something a little nicer, but I'm happy with this light for now. Thanks for the suggestion

Probably your closest match would be old school 2C Maglite. that is probably the smallest pr inc. light that is well made. running it stock with alkalines is pretty boring, you could use 2x18650 or 3x cr123. cells with a 6cell bulb. or if you willing to get glass lens and metal reflector, you could use pelican pr bulbs, back in the days it was a popular mod called ROP. 12 or 24W bulbs could be used, thou nowadays it is not as easy to find them.

I run a 2C with magnumstar xenon, glass lense, and alkaines and another with 3watt LED and alkalines. It isn't the worst light. Of course my 4C with a Halogen or 5C with magnumstar krypton are a bit more exciting.

I ended up buying a Hugsby B2 per people's recommendations. I think I bought a 10 pack of bulbs for it. It's an 18650 style light, but I bet the brand makes more than one model.

The 2 AA knock off versions of the venerable Fulton angle head are still available. 2 AA , use PR lamps. Spare lamp and colored filters store in the tailcap, just like the full size original. Rothco ( # 325 ) is one of the current manufacturers.

Possible to go with 3C M*g, 2x21700 and 6D bulb with close to 6 hours run time.
Not too small but rechargeable incand 6 hours run time.

That HUGE plastic thing is/was the only light You found for:

* AA celled,
* Small / pocketable
? ? ?
Jump into any larger Hardware store and search for a cheapo, plastic, 2*aa light.
Cant be too difficult.

Higher grade, high quality version: possibly really no more to be found

New production plastic incans are going to be biodegradable.
Look for a old stock tec 40 and learn to like a twisty.
Load with eneloops or ikealoops and enjoy.
I bought a unused example at hamvention for $1!
Still had the original duraleakers with the little paper lockout tab.
Dodged a bullet there.

Underwater Kinetics still makes a 4AA push button incan, just doesn't use PR bulbs, uses their xenon lamp assembly.

I dont go out of my way to get lights with proprietary bulbs. Unless its something easy to sub. Or use an improved bulb like some of the bipin types

I wish i could agree with you but some great lights use only their own design of bulb.
