Newly bitten by the flashlight bug, but not enough knowledge to properly satisfy its appetite. This is a great forum and I am sure the answer to my questions are located somewhere within, but once I start, I want to read all the threads and I would like to buy a coulple of lights now so I can start showing them off. Where and how do you get information on all the great looking flashlights. How do you obtain them. A friend showed me his single cell Arc and I thought that would be prefect, however you know that story. Can someone recommend something similar. For everday usage, I really don't want a limited edition. For something that nice, I want to keep perfect. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thank you.

A Fire~Fly will fill your needs. They're not in production but can be found for sale in the B/S/T forums.

Welcome redone !
Second the Fire-Fly, and you might also consider the upcoming HDS lights as the successors to the Arc4 as well as some Peak offerings.

I thought all the parts for the FF were available at The Shoppe?

A 123 may be a little fat for a keychain. But if thats ok, an Arc LS with a twisty tailcap is probably the shortest single cell regulated 123. They are no longer made, but can be found with a little effort.

If cash if freeflowing, and 3.2" or so is ok, see hdssystems.com.

best regards

It's bigger than a firefly but the Sharper Image 1 W single 123 Luxeon light (see here ) is pretty small and (mine are) white and bright. And with the coupon from the thread above, they can be had for $20 a piece if you buy two.

Not perfect but pretty darn good at a killer price. If you use a piece of PDA protector piece to cover the lens (cut a piece the size of a dime, with a little tab on the side so it is easy to remove later), I think it could be a good pocket light.

Also, the Vortex KC1 runs on a single CR2 cell and has pretty much the exact same 'metal' size of the LS (minus the clickie of the LS). They are similarly bright as well though the ARC no doubt has a bit better build quality.

It's available for $50 from advancedmart.com and a review can be found at flashlightreviews.com
