So exactly how stupid would I be using these cells in a ROP?

I'm considering building a 2D ROP with 6AA, but I have to many other expences ATM so my budget is tight and I have to scramble together the parts. I was considering using these Fuji cells or these BDY cells from lighthound since I allready have a bunch.

I know that they aren't the best cells out there, but would I be utterly foolish to use them?
Suggestions for other cheap good cells with international shipping is otherwise welcome.

And another question, what happens if you use alkas in a 2D ROP?

You would get a sickly yellow/orange beam. NiMH cells can provide the current necessary for the ROP Hi bulb.

Try the cells you have on hand and see if they provide you with a nice white beam. If not, take a look at the CBP 2000 cells, or for a good "always ready" solution use Sanyo eneloop or Rayovac Hybrid cells.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll test with my available cells if/when I get the rest of the parts.
Cheers.
