For those that have Solarforce L2 Lego's, the A switch works in a Solarforce tailcap. I bought the unit to fit inside the Z59 tailcap and was kinda happy with it on the Solarforce light but it did not look nice. I decided to convert the existing Solarforce tailcap and it works just like a bought one.
First the end result....
the original switch parts....
and the final components for the Solarforce switch conversion....
So, you take the guts out of the Solarforce tailcap, cut out the inside part in the rubber boot and then you put it all together in the order in the picture. The contact between the tailcap and the body/extension tube is via the bare threads. This works with both, single extension tube as well as with two extension tubes.
Please note, this only works when both threads are bare, will not work when one of the threads has been anodised.
