My other post was deleted. Maybe because solarforce advertises here. But, yeah solarforce hosts are ok. Certainly not their drop-ins. They are great until you have a problem and need to contact solarforce. Solarforce won't help you against any defective product.

Not my experience at all. I had to return a defective drop-in. I emailed them a copy of my postal receipt and had a refund for my return postage in my Paypal account the next day. I had the replacement drop-in so quickly that they must have sent it to me before they received the defective one. My other Solarforce drop-ins have been perfect.

The spring suggestion and copper tape are ideal solutions. If you're like me and don't want to wait for goodness sakes wrap the outside of the dropin in enough aluminum foil so that it fits snugly in the host. Now watch it light right up!

Same here. Every light I've had has been perfect. One drop in died 'cause a friend put the battery in the wrong way and they sent me a replacement. Very good comms as well.

I just found out about this L2T 20 minutes ago, what a great low cost host!

just want to say....
when i use my nailbender drop-ins with my surefires, i usually cut the spring unitl its just a ring. and the bezel still doesnt screw all the way down.

with my L2P, i use the entire spring, and the bezel still screws all the way down....

Another thing to keep in mind is that gold colored coating is insulative. On all my nicer Solarforce hosts I had to scrape or sand off some of it in order to get contact to let my modules work, even the ones with the spring.

I found a solution....I had ordered some Solarforce bulbs for a Surefire G3 I'm converting to use AA batteries and the large spring on the Solarforce wouldn't work with the Surefire so I pulled it off, put it on my Malkoff and it works great.

digitalerik , you're not helping. Solarforce makes great flashlight hosts. The problem is that they cut the pocket that you put the drop-in into a bit generously which makes negative contact difficult at times.

You're not getting negative contact between the host and the Malkoff. Try wrapping the drop-in with some copper tape or use a spring.

I have an old L900M with broken LED, (Threaded brass LED assembly with center spring. Is there a replacement LED available or simple LED conversion? I can't find an owners manual to even describe the LED used. Otherwise its the trash can.
