hi folks,

the longest day of the year is over and so i'm thinking of the dark season. at home i've lieing about a hipflex drive who was over from my last projekt.
now i've some cree mce light and i think....nice to have another light with a seoul p7 emitter.

here my actual bike light projekt:

now i modify the remote control to control the hipflex.

it is also important how the thermal management works. nothing is worse as a bikelight in action that get's to hot an regulated down (when you go a fast downhillride...'). my concept for the best thermal transfer is to make the housing in one pice. i've do a lot of different housing in the past and i've always problems when i construct a housing with a seperate inlay for the led emitter.

at these pic you can see that the emitter fits directly in the housing. there is only one thermal bridge between emitter (thermal paste) and housing. most bikelights have some more thermal bridges....like these: emitter -> led inlay -> housing .....etc.

another positive effect is the airflow when you are riding. when i drive the light on the highest mode (with hipflex it's 2,8A but ive some other constantcurrentdriver up to 4A but even much taller than hipflex), i've got no problems with the heat.

my personal opinion about the different between p7 and mce is, that the p7 even produce more heat that the mce. it's my personal subjective meaning.....and i also think that the p7 is a bit brighter....

actually i'm a little bit sceptic about the 3 x / 4 x p7 or mce projects. here is the problem to transfer the head in a efficient way. some friends here in germany have some of these 3 x / 4 x setups on the bike....and they work, only with an seperatly blower (like these computer cooler), well.

whatever system anyone here have in action, it' really interesting to see the ideas and realization.....

also....keep on riding
