So I assume you have to completely remove the interior components?
Like anodizing or heat treating...

Yes, it was bare bones light when it got the treatment... Its not anodized, the process treats the titanium such a way that if you scratch or cut it, it will be black inside :)

WOW! Excellent collection, with all the bases covered. Great to see the sapphire next to some standards. Love seeing that reflector all the way up!

And the holsters! :D

I'm curious to know if the "sapphire" beam is significantly different from the standard if you have like-for-like emitters that you can compare?

I would think their the same as the reflector is just pushed to the top with a larger heatsink. I got xpl-HI in mine and I'm extremely impressed. it's similar the xpg2 hot spot with way more punch. I love this light.

So then the sapphire lens is pure form rather than function thing? I also thought it might clean up the spill on a white wall or something nearly-but-not insignificant at least.

I know Chip uses his lights at work and probably doesn't pay attention to the outer ring anyway.

They look fantastic.
