Help Support Candle Power:

I have some normal white Seoul P4 emitters and some neutral white emitters in standard 007's. These will be available soon.

Is there something in particular you would like to see?

Well, my tall order would be XP-G R4's (assuming we can get a hold of them and you have time to modify sink/reflector). Mostly for efficiency's sake really. Otherwise a normal white will tide me over till an upgrade is available.

The thing is, an XP-G R4 does better at less than half the current  (according to spec). Who knows, reality may be different. Hopefully more efficient K2's will also be available soon:popcorn:. The diamond dragons also seem to come close. The XP-G has less throw than P4 or XP-E/XR-E (at same dispersion angle) but that is not a major consideration for my first 007 and besides I care more about reducing the waste heat (so long as I get my lumen fix as well :D). I have been paying a bit more attention to efficiency ever since my 10440 AAA EDC nearly burned the skin off my hip :whoopin: when it turned on accidentally in my coin pocket :shakehead.

R4s are worth their weight in gold right now, though, and while I'm no big fan of German industry, they do at least tend not to oversell their products the way the Chinese do. My guess is the K2's 250 lumens are worth more in real life, especially if the light quality is better. Without samples of both on-hand, though, all I can really do is speculate.

Cree is an American company.
Oops. I guess I assumed since a lot of their emitters are made in China, that's where the company was based.

Guess again.
Nah, I'm good. I'll just go ahead and continue believing superior tint can compensate for fewer lumens, to a point anyway, because that is in-line with my personal preference. If you can show me beamshots of the K2 and the R4 side-by-side, I'll be happy to reconsider.

Is the dark side stronger? :tinfoil:

"These aren't the LED's you're looking for."

Good grief, for only being a regular Star Wars fan, I sure have spent a lot of time looking at Star Wars stuff today! (it's that, or do actual real work!)
