I just bought a 5 wat Luxeon star off ebay. TOday when I got it I noticed the unusual 5 digit bin code # VVOTW
Does anyone have any ideah what this means? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

V : Flux : 113.6Lumen or over
V0 : Color Temperature : 5,350K
T : Vf : 6.39 ~ 6.87 Volts
W : Color : White

That's is very good bin. Sadly, I sold my VVOV the other day. I should have kept it.

That's a pretty decent star. Flux ain't bad and the Vf ain't bad either.

ok erm 2 more questions from this newbie. Is there a place to get cheap Thermal Adhesive? And do you think this star would run ok if directly driven at 7.2V, with an 0-sink?

You can get Artic Silver Epoxy or Artic Aluminina Epoxy from The Shoppe @ anlighten.com/shop. This particular LED can be DD'ed at 7.2V. You just have to watch the initial current, especially off NiMh/Li-ion. Also heatsink the star properly.
