Streamlight 3C Twin Task - wow!

Mr. UPS Santa brought me a box from Brightguy yesterday. The prime item contained within was a Titanium 3C TT.

When I first put 3 somewhat seasoned Energizer C cells in it was daylight. I didn't have a clue what to expect.

Last night however... As an LED light it is AWESOME!!! On 3 LEDs it is plenty bright as a walking/looking around light. On 6 LEDs even bettter!

As an Incandescent light it is pretty good. It makes a nicer beam than the reflector looks like it should. However it is distinctly YELLOW looking light. It does light up any given object pretty good, and certainly brighter than 6 LEDs by a fair margin.

It feels built like a tank. It has a VERY grippy body. The switch is recessed just about where my thumb wants it to be.

With a little bit whiter/brighter incandescent bulb it would be a very nearly perfect light.

As it is right now, I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10!

At the price of $29.95 at Brightguy, I don't think you could go wrong!

You could stick your hand in a can of grease and still not loose your grip on the TT-3C!

Try some less "seasoned" Energizers and see if it whitens up a bit. Mine does.

My TT 3C Xenon rivals several 4AA (6 volt) lights that I have. Very nice light, in fact I like them all.

Does anyone know how to get a LS into the TT-3C? I know it has a bi-pin setup. If possible, it would solve all the incan issues and produce a white light with good throw. The 3 cells would be perfect to power it. I'd buy it in a second. Or a non-white LS and or the ability to have the LS and leds on at once...

theoretically, you could direct drive the right Vf LS, but I'd think it'd be tough to fit it because of the closeness of the LED circle to the bi-pin--I'm working on replacing the bi-pin bulbin my TT 1x123 with a high output 5mm red LED which should be much less complicated

I don't have a 3C yet; can anyone take a picture of the inside without reflector and of the back of the reflector assembly? Curious about the mod-ability.

echo all the good comments in all
threads so far.
The beams are all great, especially
the xenon, which in nearly perfect.
Buy this light, you won't be disappointed!

Here's the funny thing. Turn on your little minimag type 2aa light in a dark room for a while, then cover the lens of the 3C and click past the LEDs (without looking at the light) and shine the incand. on the wall. It will look distinctly white. It only looks yellow because of the blue tinted LEDs that you see first and your brain plays tricks by doing an automatic color comparison. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
