Streamlight Key-Mate

One has been riding my keychain for 3 years and looks almost silver now, did the 5 battery mod and swapped the LED. Great little light.

Beamhead...can you point me to the 5 battery mod and LED swap mod.....i would be interested in how to do that!
thanks
andy

My old Keymate is sporting a MJ Micro Converter pill, a R3J, & a Brinkmann Legend AAA reflector powered by a N-Cell. Thanks for reminding me, it's a couple years since I played with it. :ohgeez:

Hmm, maybe I'll put a SSC in it?

My bad its the 4 battery mod, you simply put a forth battery in if it will fit.

As for the LED I just replaced the stock with one from the shoppe http://theledguy.chainreactionweb.c...d=578&osCsid=ff15fceba2136fd300bdad8a6f97461e.

The optic and LED holder are press fit in behind the lens so you just tap it out on a soft piece of wood from the LED holder side(I used a 1/4 inch drive socket that fit to pop it out), caution you can ruin your light if not done right, then you just put the new LED in and push it back together.

Ive had one for a couple of years. I modded it with a SMJLED. Much brighter, but still purple tint. It puts out 3x the original(visual eyeballing it)

Great little light, runs very long.Pretty bright , really tough finish, still no scratches even after being on my keychain for 2 years!

I bought a bunch a few years ago and gave most away as gifts. Everyone I gave one to still has it with no problems. I modded a few with brighter Nichia CS LEDs which made a pretty good output difference. I love the look of the light...like a mini-sized normal flashlight. They've been very durable and should they ever break, there's the lifetime warranty you can send it in for to get it repaired or a new one.
