Streamlight Stylus Pro & Microstream Question

I just received a Streamlight Stylus Pro and a Streamlight Microstream. Each included a small clear plastic "thing" about 12mm x 10mm x 13mm and I can't figure out what the devil it is. I'd call Streamlight and ask them, but they are closed until Monday for the holiday and not being able to figure out what it's for is bugging me.

I have a feeling that it will be "obvious" once I actually know what it is. It's sure not obvious at the moment.

I could take a photo of the thing, but given the popularity of the Streamlights for merging with Fenix heads and in their own right, I have a feeling that others will know what I'm referring to.

TIA.

I think the clear plastic piece was for use in the packaging and not needed in actual use once you remove the light from the package.

Is the Stylus Pro noticeably brighter than the Microstream? I run the Microstream using an Energizer E2 lithium battery and wonder if I would see a difference in output if I bought a Stylus Pro.

Thanks.

Did it sit above the tail clicky in the package?

I think it's just for actuating the tail cap while in the package.

If it's what I think it is, it's so you can test it in the packaging without clicking it on.

Thanks to you and the others for the info on the plastic "thing". I had ordered them by mail and when they arrived I promptly cut off the perimeter of the packaging to get to the lights and just sort of dumped everything in the package on the table so I didn't really see where they came from. Makes sense that they were to facilitate being able to test the lights while still in the packages.

I don't see that the Stylus Pro is noticeably brighter than the Microstream, but the runtime should be much better, of course. I actually bought them to match up with a couple of Fenix heads which worked nicely once I got the heads off the Streamlights. It took a fair amount of heat to break whatever they use to seal them on.

Thanks again and best wishes for the holidays.
