Streamlight SuperTac?

All this talk about cheap LED throwers, this one is pretty mean. I bought it for my dad and it will paint a white dot WAYYYY out there! Why does noone speak of it? Does the DBS out-throw it?

I have one and consider it a great sleeper light. There are others out there which throw farther and some have more flexibility as far as updating, but the price and warranty make it hard to beat. It's size prevents it from being an EDC for me, but I use it often for specialized tasks.

The Super-Tac is smaller than it looks. I was with my son the other day in the Reno Scheels store, and they have Streamlight and Surefire as the 2 main brands they carry....along with Maglight. Well, I had my Eagle 8w with me and asked the guy to open the case so I could compare the two in terms of throw.

Without knowing what the state of charge the Super-Tac had in them, they threw about the same when the Eagle was on standard. But on Turbo, the Eagle out threw it.

I would agree that for the price, it is a decent thrower. The reflector produces a nice hot-spot. Keep in mind that the Eagle was about twice the price but also allows for upgrades in the future.....so pick your poisen.

I would say the DBS easily out throws it.
