I want a rechargeable light to use for walks at night. The last one I had was an SF 8AX that I didn't care for the beam of. Now I'm thinking of a Streamlight Strion or Stinger HP. How does the HP brightness and beam quality compare to the Strion's? Any other lights you would suggest?

I own Stinger (s). I think run time of new Strion is longer, and it is very portable. Beam quality can not be better than Stinger with stock orange peel reflector. Strion might throw further.

The Stinger HP has a narrower beam than the Strion. The Strion is more like the regular Stinger.

Strion has brighter and whiter beam than regular Stinger. I got both and prefer to use Stinger with Strion bulb. With this combination, I have brighter Stinger than original bulb.

The Strion is an excellent light, but after 70 or so minutes it cuts out until you recharge it. The reason this happens is because it is suppose to preserve battery life!

The Stinger HP is another good one. It runs up to one hour.

Any other information about these lights visit the Streamlight Homepage
