I just got a G4 Socket from Fivemega. Does it matter which way the bulb goes in?

Also, sometimes the bottom of the bipin legs can be widened from being clipped, and you may have to gently sand them to a narrower tip diameter to fit in the holder. Be gentle. Wear eye protection, as putting pressure on the legs (especially any spreading sideways force) is one of the biggest risks for these high pressure bulbs to explode.

Once anchored in socket, clean off the bulb glass with Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to get your finger oils off...again to prevent it from blowing.

Thanks guys. I felt like a dumba$$ even asking but I wanted to make sure. It did seem a little snug the first time putting the glass bulb part in first...

I think you'll find a dumba$$ will tend to not ask many questions - it's the people that are keen to learn that ask questions.

Please NEVER feel that way. None of us were born holding a flashlight while in utero. However, I did start practing my grip at 20 weeks, and pretty much had it mastered by 28 weeks.
