Suggestion for a good cheap AA light to MOD

I have a extra Q5 LED on a 16mm star and a 20 mode driver that I need to put in a good single AA body. What is a good quality light that can be modded. Would like something under about 15 bucks since I am going to trash the LED and driver.

I really like that stainless light, I think I will be ordering one of those for sure and maybe the romisen, the only concern I have on the Romisen is it looks like the led and driver are going to be bigger than 16mm.

According to StefanFS the board needs to be 15mm.

The C3 uses a 14mm star and a 16mm driver...so you'll probably have to sand down your components to fit. Your driver is probably 17mm.

Anyone selling just the shells of lights suitable for dropping in a standard-size Luxeon K2 star? OR shells with a driver circuit?

I've bought several of the generic $5 3xAAA lights to throw out the white HP-type stars and put in red or amber Luxeons (crudest kind of mod, just changing a resistor). Decent short-use very bright light with NiMHs.

But I don't know any good AA-size light with a head size big enough.
