New to the forum. Just wondering if 8NX can use lithium 123's. I use it but not daily and would rather use lithiums in it now knowing that the rechargeable can be affected if not cycled properly. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No, I don't believe it can. You might want to consider getting a Surefire G2 w/ rechargeable kit. This way if the rechargeable battery dies, you simply unscrew the adapter and drop in 2 123s.

BTW, if you decided to sell your 8NX please let me know. I've been considering getting one for a while.

Pick up the PILA conversion kit. Keep the same small size as the standard body and have a bit more light.

8?X and 9?X uses the B90 Batteries, which is essentially a 3-cell Sub-C NiCD pack. A Pila would be 4.2v when fully charged and is drained at 3.7v. I have not tested it, but a NiCD when fully charged is around 1.35v; i.e. B90 would be around 4.05volts... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Anybody has tested the N90/N80 bulb with a Pila...?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

I meant use the PILA conversion for the G2/G2Z or 6P. Keep the same size and boost output to around 80 lumens. I find the PILA 3.7v lamp puts out more light than the P60

One single unit of lithium-ion battery (18650 or Pila 168) will hardly power up 8NX lamp with very short run time.
2 parallel connected above batteries will work much brighter with longer run time. I have done similar conversion for Stinger using 2 parallel 18650
