Surefire 8X/8AX/8NX/9AN li-ion rechargeable

It occurs to me that the Surefire X series is running awfully close to the working voltage of a single, large li-ion cell. One could probably be wrapped in some wiring to make it circuit compatible with the slightly odd contacts they use in the X lights; my only issue is where do you find a li-ion cell large enough?

Single li-ion such as 18650 will slightly underdrive most of mentioned bulb and will be waste of space inside original barrel. "C" size li-ions won't fit because they are too fat unless you make custon fat-short barrel.
In any case, charger must be modified to charge li-ions properly.
