Some times I think if it weren't for bad luck...

I dropped my month old White A2,, and cracked the lens all the way through, I can feel it with my fingernail. Actually it was more like I was running up the stairs and it slipped from my hand and crashed into the step above me, but "dropped" sounds much better than "threw at the floor."

So, I'm guessing this is a trip back to the mothership, anything I need to know before I call them tomorrow? Do I need to dig up any paperwork or is their logo on the side enough to get it taken care of?

They won't ask you for receipts or proof of purchase. Call customer service and explain what happened. They will ask you to send in the light and will probably fix it for free.

Well technically you didn't throw it, you dropped it in a throwing motion...

Good point, it wasn't exactly intentional!

It must have hit something other than the stair though, there is a small dent in the bezel right behind the pyrex crack, I didn't see it at first because it didn't scrape off any anodize, it just pushed in and made a dent in the aluminum.

I suppose this is why I bought 2 A2's. Since I can't decide which to carry anyway I guess I'm going to carry the red one for a while.

I really need the Aviatrix red/white ring so I can have the best of both worlds...

dont we all:)

I'm more than capable of swapping the LEDs myself, but the Avatrix had a small pic to control a 2-stage system one could get Red when wanted or white for general use.

I may update my white A2's LEDs to latest gen Nichas at some point, but I'm in a holding pattern until there is final information on the ring replacements.

Actually, I did a nice polish job on my red A2 using Brasso and a Dremel, made for an extremely nice smooth beam and kept the LEDs looking good too.

There's a chance they'll send you a new bezel without requiring your whole light to be sent back. Please keep us updated.

They wanted the whole thing back, I shipped it out UPS today so they'll have it next Wednesday. They told me 2 weeks rough estimate to get it back to me.

No questions at all about it though, I told them I cracked the lens and the next thing he said was my RMA number. That's good service.
