It's a small collection in my mind, but several people over in the B/S/T forum asked if I could post some pictures of them. Here they are. Hope you enjoy them. :)

The entire collection. My Black 4 sided at the front of the group with a large supporting cast. (I'm waiting for one more 4 sided to come in from Amlim) Back left is a white LED with OregonShooter tail stander.

My attempt at Christmas lighting..

Another one of all the White LED's

Last one with my Black HA in the front, left rear is my older Serial # (A00564) and right rear is my newest serial # (A70326)

All included it's:
1 Black 4 sided -White
1 HA 4 sided - Red
1 HA 4 sided - Blue
1 HA 4 sided - Green
3 HA rounded - White
1 HA rounded - Blue
1 HA rounded - Green
2 HA rounded - Y/G (1 frosted LED's)

Now all I need is a purple HA one. If anyone has one that they no longer want......

Also does anyone know (Size15 maybe) if they made a 4 sided Y/G model?

Thanks all and have a Merry Christmas. I hope Santa brings all the lumens you are asking for.

Though I don't know this for a fact, but I think that y/g was a later release, not an original color. This may mean that there are no 4-flat y/g's. On a side note, I love my y/g, my favorite A2 so far (I own/have owned white, red and y/g.)

Thats a nice collection, BTW. :twothumbs

Yes, but I have put together an extremely nice, uniform dark grey, Y/G square A2. It is my pride and Joy. I was lucky enough to find a very dark grey square A2 and a perfectly matching newer YG head and bezel, and tailcap. It's so dark it's almost black.

YGs came in after the body change, the good thing is..the LED ring and assembly remains relatively unchanged post up something like

"will trade white for YG LED rings" in the BST and see what happens
I'd advice a bezel trade as the LED assembly alone is pretty fragile

wheres that bird you need him...preening his feathers probably

That's a great collection of A2's! I think the 4 sided ones look so much better than the round ones. I think I recognize a couple of those you got there, Carpenter. :)

Thanks.

I wonder why SF changed the design from flat to round?

You should recognize a couple of them. :)

This has been discussed before. PK explained that it is more ergonomic to grip and affords larger surface area for laser etching the various things SureFire want to put on there. Not at all concerned with "Cheaper/easier/quicker to manufacture" - they have excellent CNC turning centres at their So Cal facilities where SureFire machines, manufacturers and assembles its products that make light-work of making working lights!

It does, however, remove the flat surface with which it was made easier to fix the light on some makeshift mount, such as on the front of a bicycle, which is something I value more than cosmetics.

The Surefire line of products have always carried intelligence and functionality within every aspect of their design; this change is certainly harder to understand.

Hardly any more laser etching in the new round model than the old square. The old has much more surface etched and in three sides, vs. two sides for the new. I really don't quiet understand the reasoning behind this.

I absolutely love that combo Y/G. But, I must admit that for outdoor use, i.e. my coffee plantation, the white LED's light up my way through the trails. Up close they are too much. If there could be a combo A2 with Y/G and white that would be ideal for me. For now I just have to put up with more A2's :santa:
