Where can I purchase a brand new Surefire Beast? Also is there like a general price one is to pay for one?

Thanks, Jerry

I had just called PLanetOptics and they say this beast2 is not forsale ? Is this correct..

:huh2:
I thought beasts are made to order? Guess that went out
Beasts costs about $5000, anything below that is generally a decent deal. Surefire keeps close eye on its dealers so don't expect to find substantial savings
I think tactical pants might have them still...if not try victorinox

Usually the best way to purchase a Beast II is on the used market. I few have passed through the CPF market place and they typically sell for half that of MSRP. If you purchase through a dealer, you're going to pay full retail or close to it.

I had two SF Beast II's, sold my main user for $3,400.00. It would take
3 Silverback Gorillas to get me to part with the other one! Won't happen.

Since the Beast II has been discontinued for civilian sales, the demand
and price has really been climbing. Last year a couple used ones sold for
+/- $2,650.00, now it seems the $3,400.00 I got for my user is more the
norm. That price may even possibly be on the low side of what they will
be commanding as demand continues to rise and the new/old stock dries
up.

Once again, Surefire creates a great light; and pairs it up with p*$$ poor business practices.

If there was a serious shortage of Beasts for the troops serving in the war, then I could completely understand. But considering the price, and the fact that each Beast was only made after a customer placed an order; it makes no sense. And, there are indeed civilian users with jobs that would require the type of performance a Beast is capable of putting out. If they're willing to spend their own money on one. . . Just doesn't make sense. Oh well, more money in the pockets of Surefire's competitors.

A Polarion isn't the same. But if you can't get your hands on a Beast. . . Way to go Surefire. :shakehead

Perhaps this is a possible indication that the ARC HID's may be close at hand, assuming they ever become production items. Due to Surefire's history of teasing us with notions of new and exciting projects and then pulling the rug out from under us hopefuls, I've been fairly skeptical lately about the ARC. With that said, HID's have been a regular part of their product line for many years now and it would be hard for me to imagine them abandoning all HID sales to the public. As it has been, HID's from Surefire have been nearly untouchable due to their price alone. Therefore, not only to I think they should indeed offer a couple of HID models but they should also try to make the technology more accessable to a wider range of people. Is the ARC that light? I'm sure hoping so. :ooo:

I can confirm that Victorinox stores has a Beast II HID, at least they did a few months ago. I live very close to one of the Victorinox stores, and last time I went there they had a Beast II in a glass case with all of its accessories. I doubt that anyone has bought it, since not many people around here will spend $4,000+ on a light.
