Hi everyone! This is my first post! It's so great to have found this forum. If only I had looked for it sooner. I have been a flashlight lover from early childhood and thought the maglite was the king of all lights... boy was I misinformed. :duh2:

Have some questions about the Surefire E2D Defender LED that i purchased a while back.

#1 Can 18650 batteries be used with this light? If not, can rechargeable CR123s be used with it? Is it safe or am i better off with regular CR123s?

#2 Anyone know of a holster that will allow it to be carried lower on a belt? I purchased the "Surefire" holster and the majority of the holster rides above the belt and keeps rubbing on the side of my body. Really uncomfortable. It's also kind of bulky... wish there was some plastic thing I could just click the light into and carry it naked.

Thanks!

Nice light huh, I just recently got one myself and fell in love and refuse to EDC anything else. I like to belt carry my main EDC light also and with the 5.4inch E2DL length it can be a little challenging for me. I have been carrying it a iTP E50 holster and found it to be comfortable enough but I have a nice leather quick draw holster from AKJ that looks like it will be nice and from what people say it is. Below is the links for both holsters.

As for the 18650 it is to wide to fit in the E2DL body and I have not tried any other rechargeable's but I think 14650 will fit someone else could surely answer that for you or just do a search. Personally I would choose not to use them for warranty related issues.

Thanks for linking me!

That post about the rechargeables cleared up a lot of questions for me.

That first holster, might i ask at what point the belt loop lies? Is it towards the top of the holster or closer to the bottom?
