I just got the Cree flashlight head from Deal Extreme and am having a problem with the clickie end of the flashlight. Knowing virtually nothing about how it works, I find that the clickie is rock solid. In other words, it won't click. I push on the button and it is like a frozen block. I even put the standard flash head back in but to no avail.

It's probably my lack of knowledge on how it works, but if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

The G2 has no clickie, as it is a true tactical flashlight. It is a momentary twisty-type tailcap, but you can purchase a clickie for it. I really like Surefire's clickie for G/P/C-size lights, and it is a permanent fixture on my C2.

unscrew it a bit, and then try it. most LED heads are a bit tighter then the P60, so it'll push harder on the batteries and tailcap.

Oooops, I just found that out. The unit works with the flash head that came with it, but the DX drop-in is dead. There's no way it will work. I cranked the rear back until I could get a contact, but nothing. I've heard that many of them are DOA; guess I'm one of the unlucky ones.

Your batteries are dead. It's not a clickie, just a momentary, you crank it all the way down only to turn it on, otherwise, unscrew 1-2 times and press the button to turn on.

You cannot click a G2 switch when the tailcap is all the way in because that is the constant-on position. Anyway, at that position you should have a constant beam, so no need to click.

Unscrew the tailcap a little then you can click for momentary beam.
