Surefire KT1/2 + KT4 head - Lamp size different? (HO-M6R problem)

Hi,

Not sure whether I've got an odd Turbohead with my KT1 kit or whether there's a design difference.

I bought a couple of Lumens Factory HO-M6R lamps - neither would fit in the KT1 Turbohead. (trashed one lamp trying to get it in there - had to use pliers to get it out the few mm it had gone in)

I bought a KT4 kit and the remaining lamp fit fine in there (as did the trashed lamp)

I bought another batch of HO-M6R's and the one that I tried did fit in the KT1 head - a little bit tight. (the first two mic'd up at 9.53 dia, the one I checked of the next batch was 9.51mm - checking a few other SureFire lamps - MN60 was 9.46mm, N1/MN20 were 9.49mm)

Do I have a KT1 head that is not correctly manufactured, or is the KT4 head intentionally larger where the lamp goes? (I can't measure the ID accurately)

If so, do the Lumens Factory lamps regularly go large enough to not fit a KT1 head?

Thanks for any advice - got to play with my light properly a couple of hours ago - pretty impressed (HO-M6R in KT4 head + Leefdapter C-M + 3x18650 Leef body (C-C) + Z49 tailcap + 3x AW 2200mAH 18650's - lasted the 35 minutes I needed it for and still bright) - it would be nice to have a second with the KT1 (may have to end up grading lamp assemblies)

Theres a thread somewhere with similar concerns...tape off the bulb and sand the post down to fit properly.

Thanks for the tip, for now I'll just keep the KT4 only lamps separate and avoid using the smaller ones in the KT4 head.

Not too sure whether it's a good thing that it's not just me...

I was hoping to hear the KT1/2's heads were not intentionally smaller and mine was a 'one-off'' - then I had an excuse to get another newer one (to match the body colour).
