Did somebody do some comparison between those 2 models ?
I am interested in how well the L4 is regulated on 2xCR123 or 16650 and how L4 throw compares to the E2L throw .

I recently got the E2L 3/60 lumens and it puts a real 100-110 lumens. It's slightly less bright than my 2 x E1Bs and throws almost as good as those so in the 4,000 - 4,500 lux range. I know that E2L runs in good regulation with CR123s and 16650.

I am considering buying the L4 KL1 - C head, so last version rated for 170-lumens. I know it's using a SSC P4 so an outdated emitter but I want to know how well it throws and if it's regulated.

I am assuming that E2L even having half of L4 brightness - or so - might throw even better due to its TIR lense, while the SSC P4 offers more of a smooth/floody beam in a not so deep/small reflector.

Any input would be greately appreciated !
