Whats up with surefire tailcaps? I owned 3 surefire lights so far the E1E, U2, and E2D. The tailcap on the U2 was flakey so they sent me another and now the E2D tailcap is also junk with minimal use.

Sorry to hear your having troubles. Fortunately, Surefire is great about replacing stuff no questions asked.

My Surefire dealer also takes stuff back without question and replaces it pronto. Gotta love that!

They produce a LOT of equipment, so a hiccup here and there happens.:D

Thanks!

2 out of 3 is not a hickup here and there :)

I own over 20 Surefires with many more additional tailcaps and heads, so I'd be upset if 14 of them (statistically similar to your scenario; 2 out of 3) acted up.:)

Statistically it is a hiccup. I am certain that 66% of Surefire's production is not defective.:)

Good luck!:)

You need either a pair of right angle pliers with ground down tips or a compression ring removing tool and just align the pins and twsit.

I think I'd let surefire do all that since their products are expensive and have a lifetime warranty.
