I would buy a spare at the same time, that way you will never need it. I don't know how hard they are to get, but shipping is expensive on small parts, so I always add a spare to my purchase.
The Surge lamp *is* proprietary, so it's a good idea to get a spare when you buy the light, so you don't have to order one and wait when the original burns out/breaks.
I think http://www.brightguy.com carries them, yup he has them for $5.50 each. Look under Princeton Tec, then Surge, then accessories. I am sure other people carry them also, TTS probably.
I just bought my Surge from brightguy and should be getting it on mon-tues. I bought the bulb at the same time to save shipping costs if I need it in the future.
Thanks for the help. I am concerned about the bulb being proprietery(sp). I like to be able to buy a bulb off the shelf. What happens if your last bulb goes and you don't need to order a flashlight(it could happen) I wouldn't want to have to pay shipping just for a few bulbs. If a store actually carried the bulbs I might think about it.
On the other hand after actually holding one today my palm still has a itch that needs scratching.
