Swiffer needs new cells

Ok, so I posted this about a week ago or so, but I haven't been able to come up with a workable solution, and the toothbrush thread recharged (yuk yuk) my interest in saving my dying Swiffer rechargable vac.

So, read my initial post and if you can come up with a solution that costs less than $28.95 (at Target), I'm all ears...

most RC cars run on 7.2V nicads,

but heck, its a DC motor so you could probably use any battery pack you can mod in. (if youre good at that sort of thing)
i mean, anything that puts out a few amps between 6 and 10 volts should do it.

you might even be ably to buy something, anything rechargable and transplant the guts and use the charger...
