Taking off mce board from pill

Title say it, just want to separate the board from pill. Looks like the star glued with DX Fujik thermal glue to pill. Should I heat up the pill or just use screw driver ?

Those are tough, if there's an easy way, I'm all ears too. I usually end up mangling the MCPCB and waiting another month for another mcpcb to arrive.
I usually just go at it with a screwdriver because I'm an impatient oaf

I would desolder the LED, go around the board with a knife, and then pry under one of the notches with a small, sharp screwdriver. That usually minimizes board massacring.

So there's no way to "soften" the thermal glue.....

Unsolder LED.

Cut away excess thermal adhesive from around the MCPCB.

Apply heat to the pill with a heat gun (or boil in a baggie). It should be too hot to hold with bare hands for the next step but not hot enough to melt solder.

Using a flat screwdriver inserted between the side of the MCPCB and the inside of the pill - give it a twist. The MCPCB will usually come loose fairly easily when the adhesive is heated.
