Surefire's E series head threads are 13/16 x 20. With a tiny lathe that has no power feed, my only option for making E series compatible parts are to use a tap/die set.

However after much searching online, I haven't found a place that sells both the tap and die. Local tools suppliers in Australia don't have anything in 13/16 x 20 also.

Does anyone know of any online sellers that has the mentioned tap and die?

There is a US company ' MSC Industrial ' that has the sizes listed. I don't know if they ship internationally, you can check with them.

With taps and dies that size you really can't do that easily by hand. You will run in to centering problems and threads that might not be straight. Best bet with any of this is a lathe and single point threading tool.

"That really is a large size " also - most lights have a smooth start were an 'O' ring seals out water. You will have to do that on a lathe...

If you can chuck the tap into a drill press chuck, do that. Then unhook the spindle from the drive belt and let it freewheel. Then spin it by hand or use a tap wrench around the tap in the press. That will keep it straight. It's still not going to be fun.

another source for the tap and die is Travers Tool. They were under the "special thread" catagory. The ones I received were made in the Czech Republic, so presumably they should be available from dealers in the EU as well
