Hey guys. I know there is mixed emotion about some of the TerraLUX drop-ins for MagLites, but lets put that aside for a moment.
I have a 4D MagLite that I've modified for a 52mm aspheric lens and the TerraLUX drop-in, and it's pretty awesome. I can light up 40ft pine trees at 200yards with fresh batteries, and its impressive for a relatively inexpensive mod.
My question is how much better do these drop-ins run at 9v? Since I have 3 extra lenses, I'm thinking of doing the aspheric mod to a 2C Mag, and running 3xCR123A's in the 2C body to drive the TerraLUX at 9v. Will it be any brighter? I'll suffer the reduced runtime for brightness and compactness.
I haven't seen anyone run this drop-in in both a 4D and 6D at the same time to show what the beam shots look like. Thanks in advance!
