thanks for all the great posts and information. I got here by looking around for a spotlight and found so much info here my wife is ready to disown me. 
oo: Now the question. I need to replace a handheld spotlight I use by the bed for emergencies around the house and such. I'm gone a ton in my work and want something that my wife can use quickly to light up the night or blind a intruder while she gets her 357 out . we now use a 1 million candle power but it has died after years of use. I'm thinking along the Stanley hid or a 5 million candlepower that will do double duty around my sprawling place . looking for any recomendations or comments. thanks agin for a great site and I'll always head here for reviews.
